As raising the intellectual level of the masses is one of the primary obligations of the democratic constitution, the time has come to utilize all the possible media of communicating significant ideas to India\u2019s teeming millions<\/em>&nbsp;<em>who are devoid of letters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2014Bhupendra Kumar Hazarika<\/strong>&nbsp;from his doctoral thesis at Columbia University, 1952, titled:&nbsp;<em>PROPOSALS FOR PREPARING INDIA\u2019S BASIC EDUCATORS TO USE AUDIO-VISUAL TECHNIQUES IN ADULT EDUCATION.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c&nbsp;<em>The Cosmos is Within Us<\/em>&nbsp;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2014 Carl Sagan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In keeping with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika\u2019s 1952 visionary recommendation for India\u2019s educators to transmit vital survival information to India\u2019s adults by all possible means, we invite you, fans of the Bard of the Brahmaputra, world wide, to join us in co-creating&nbsp;<strong>cross-generational arts and humanities<\/strong>&nbsp;group workshops to bring to life his firm belief that the&nbsp;<em>study&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;<em>practice<\/em>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<strong>arts<\/strong>&nbsp;(in any field engaging our five senses, eg. word, music, art, writing, dancing, cooking, sports etc.) and&nbsp;<strong>humanity<\/strong>, is a fast track to realizing our vast inherent potential to generate good will \u2014 the glue that keeps communities healthy. Through works in groups, like musical or dance groups, we create great good will. As he expressed in his numerous songs extolling the richness of life from his own experiences, how and why every single individual is equally important in the web of life experience. He codifies for us the idea that the absence of respect for the other is the bases for suffering whereas a caring attitude towards others can expand our outlook, increase the joy and influence our community positively. The path of expanding our heart of compassion for the benefit of all, is the golden road to a good life regardless of our preferred religious beliefs. Joy and good manners are appreciated in all societies.
